We worked with Windhill over the course of two years to build our dream house in Annisquam. Shawn and Kevin were professional, responsive and responsible. We vividly recall our first meeting with Shawn Cayer from Windhill Builders, when we discussed our building project. We cannot adequately express our appreciation for Kevin O’Connor, the Windhill construction manager who shepherded our building project from start to finish. Kevin was simply fabulous to work with. Always extremely reliable, communicative, and organized, Kevin truly made the building process so much easier for us. There were often daily texts, phone calls, and meetings, each helping us to move the project along. He inspired confidence and we always felt things were in good hands. But along the way, we also got to know Kevin on a more personal level and that made our interactions even better. Kevin always helped us keep things in perspective, and we also enjoyed his fabulous sense of humor.

It is not uncommon to hear about issues with subcontractors, but our experience with ALL of the Windhill Builder subs was terrific. We were extremely pleased with the high quality work they performed — from those who excavated and poured the foundation, to those who framed the house, insulated, painted, implemented the electrical plan, created the custom built-ins and cabinetry, installed the flooring, AV systems and alarms — they were all pleasant, professional, friendly and terrific at their jobs.

Windhill also provided wonderful inside administrative support. Billing and accounting was always clearly spelled out and specified. Any questions we had were always promptly answered, and we knew that Jessica was there ready to help with anything we needed. She always communicated the same high level of enthusiasm for the project and she played a crucial role in the success of the project. When we saw her in person, there was always a welcoming smile to greet us and a hand extended to help.

Our beautiful new home is everything we hoped for, reflecting the inspiration of Mat Cummings and his team at Cummings Architects and the “make it happen” team of talented, professional builders at Windhill Builders.

We don’t have enough good things to say about Windhill! We hired them for a significant renovation on our home which took 8 months and included an addition, all new kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room, new plumbing, heating, electrical, windows, etc….. It was a big project and these folks were amazing to work with every step of the way. They are very knowledgeable, do great work and are all around very good people. While we have never done a project of this scale, we have renovated other homes, and this is by far the best experience we have ever had with a construction project. We couldn’t be happier with the finished product and we are so grateful to Windhill for all of the amazing work that has made our home so wonderful.

Construction projects are never easy, especially when you are living in your house during the process and your home is 250 years old. With that in mind, it’s still amazing to me how smooth the process for this project was. The work included demolition of some existing additions to be replaced with new spaces as well as restoration of an early 1800s structure. The restored and new spaces included a living room, master bedroom suite and a gourmet kitchen. The work was completed in a timely fashion and with the highest quality craftsmanship. We’d like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for the work and time Kathy Dagle put into helping us find and purchase a home. We were shopping in a high-end market to keep our children in the same school system we had been in while renting, but we didn’t have a high end budget. While she knew we were on a tight budget, she also knew it was a tight market. She found homes that would meet our needs or could easily be adjusted, and never took us anywhere that wasn’t within our guidelines. Kathy kept us updated on price changes almost before they happened. She was also extremely honest and let us know if she thought a house wasn’t worth what it was listed for, even when it meant she would make less of a commission.

Without her encouragement, perseverance and knowledge of real estate, we would not have found our forever home. This was our second time around working with Kathy. The first time was during the summer of 2015. We had planned to put our Byfield house up for sale after living there for 25 years. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer and had a “total hysterectomy” which sidelined me for months, and at the same time, my husband was diagnosed with Lyme disease When it rains…it pours. After about 8 weeks, Mark and I were back in the saddle again and were preparing our house for sale. My memory is hazy but I think we met Kathy before my surgery or right after. We went to an open house in Ipswich, I believe. I loved the way she came across. Confident, but not overbearing, knowledgeable, and superfast at getting back to us, so we hired her to be our real estate agent. She sold our house and helped us buy our new house in Peabody.

I called Kathy again for her help. And again, I had surgery (a brain tumor) that set me back about 2 months. Unbelievable! Anyway, Kathy handles anything that needs to be done in an efficient and professional manner but she also has compassion. Buying or selling a house is a stressful process and it is not always a smooth road, but we felt safe with her to explain situations in a language that is understandable, and we were sure she would do her best to get the property we desired.
